Prisoner of Time
The Cival War
Eye got arrested by the Yankees for being in homespun with new boots on. They would not listen to me when I told them it was scrounge then found them. They noticed the lump in the side of the pants sewed into the lining there was fourty dollars Confederate monies it was mine. They took the pants off then gived me some of the blue ones just like theres they told me to carry them for changes. They filled them papers out for the prisoner roll then they took my Money rolled upp from the homespun sewed in the lining pocket done took to town they got drunk eye stepped into the dark in my new blue uniforms. I could not go home like this I was just the prisoner of time. A man needs lots of things but when he is only surviving he learns to lay without them not needing them. Then eye soon became the Christian living just on the edges of the battlefields. I learned to walk among the dead pretending to gather the items for distribution eye was soon rich all over again. Entering the field of Battle ofter the fight was over. There is going to be people who do nothing but find out what other people do they call them worthless people when they call them upp. Like Jailers guarding empty cells they guard the empty tombs. There is nothing like the sweet sour smell of the graveyard. It tricks the mind to think of the dead people lying there but what is actually being smelled is the decaying flowers on the Graves. There is this student here he does wear bowling shoes the red with white ones size ten they must be missing them down at the bowling pins lanes the ones that let him bowl once in the summertime he kept the pretty shoes so he can dance his Can Can. The sorry thing is being quiet in the lieberry they just keep talking but they tell me to shut upp. You will not do this to me once today eye started talking just to be making the noise. There is still not two sets of rules. YOu wish to chatter then have it quiet for you to do so this is not the boy it is if you talk this boy around me then be assured eye will make some noise of my own. So now they get the cell phones out its endless chatter the guard tells me yes there is rules but she is busy so the boy left the girl is here but she stopped using her phone the guard did not come she forgot me. But the girl is now quiet there is no further need. Complacency now you could hire the monkey with the blindfold to do what eye do here. Eye fooled the wind into blowing. Eye told the wind not to blow. The wind is like the woman growing old she will not be told. Eye fooled the wind into blowing cold. The jaded childrun still cuss the old man on the sidewwalking out from the town there is no use in going there now. Death to the firing squad you will not fight without getting hurt don't you knoe its murder no matter who the bullit comes from it hits the world. Ed.note.ed Charles E.
